I was the worst at english and maths but found comfort in subjects like design and photography where I could freely express my creativity. Trying to balance a full time job and have a creative outlet is hard work but seeing the final product is always rewarding.
Networking across rather than networking up is really important for me because we have too much talent within South Auckland for us to then source outside of it. Working with people and small businesses has not only been a chance to create work but also put familiar faces at the forefront of that work.

Sup I’m TJ! A creative from Otara wanting to contribute to the movement of South Auckland talent! 274 Hard!
My home of Otara is one of the main influences in my work! I love to highlight the amount of creativity that comes from this place and how regardless of the circumstances and stigma, it’s never defined or dictated individuals from here who are wanting to do great things. For such a small suburb it has such a rich history and I hope to contribute to that the best way I know how!
